Flood Warning in effect for Western LA County – CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – The National Weather Service issued a flood notice in response to the heavy rainfall the region experienced for most of Thursday.

The forecast of overnight rain prompted the recommendation for the western region of Los Angeles County, which includes the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys, as well as the Santa Monica Mountains and the Malibu coast.

They warn of floods as well as mud and debris flows, especially in the most recent fire areas.

Flood warning expires at 12:30 pm Friday for western LA County, including the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys, the SMO Mtns, and the Malibu Coast. Urban and small stream floods will be possible. Smaller mud and debris flows can occur in the vicinity of fresh burn scars. #cawx #LAWeather #SoCal

The NWS also issued a flood warning for Counties Ventura and Santa Barbara on Thursday evening.
