Could the Los Angeles Rams be leaving the Conejo Valley?

Could the next big play by the Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams be to move their training facility, and headquarters from the Conejo Valley?

A newspaper reports negotiations are underway to move the team’s facilities to the San Fernando Valley.

The Rams have been doing their in-season training at a temporary facility opened on the California Lutheran University campus in Thousand Oaks in 2016.

Now, the Los Angeles Times is reporting the team is in negotiations to buy the old Promenade Shopping Center on Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The mall has a movie theater, and some restaurants, but most of the major stores which were on the site closed years ago.

The newspaper accounts say that the team would also move its corporate headquarters from Agoura Hills to the new 30 plus acre site.

According to the Times, the Rams and the owners of the mall aren’t commenting on reports negotiations are underground.

The Cal Lutheran facility was always intended to be temporary, with portable buildings making up the complex on the university’s north campus. However, the City of Thousand Oaks had hoped to find a permanent site to keep the team in the community.
