Closing ceremony for Hispanic Heritage Month Friday

SANTA MONICA, California – this Friday October 15th, the Santa Monica community is invited to a closing ceremony for the first Hispanic Heritage Month in Santa Monica. The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. in front of City Hall, 1685 Main Street (Speakers and award ceremony at 4:30 p.m.).

Fun includes music, dancing, a mini lowrider car show, and art. It will be a too resource Fair and vaccination clinic on site. The Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee, made up of staff from the City of Santa Monica, is also pleased to introduce the distinguished Santa Claus Monicans from the Latinx community with awards for their leadership and dedication to Santa Monica. The winners were nominated by roommates, Parishioners and colleagues last month.

the target of the Control Hispanic Heritage Month Committee was to begin to emphasize and celebrate the diversity of all Hispanics, Latino / Latinx people, starting with it for months to celebrate and to build on this dynamic all year round by offering events that promote economic mobility, networking opportunities, and resources for economic recovery.

The October 15 event concludes a series of events that began September 15, all of which aim to achieve this goal. The one-month series included virtual Discussions, Film screenings, literary events, mercadito (night market), cultural dance and music and much more.
