SANTA MONICA – Fans have voted and on Tuesday evening their judgments will be announced in 40 categories from film, television, music and pop culture at the People’s Choice Awards 2021.
Black Widow, Coming 2 America and No Time To Die are among the nominated films, while stars like Daniel Craig, Ryan Reynolds, Margot Robbie and Scarlett Johansson compete for individual acting awards.
In addition, several special prizes are awarded: Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry receives the People’s Icon Award; Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Receives People’s Champion Award; TV Personality and Entrepreneur Kim Kardashian West Receives Fashion Icon Award; and Grammy-winning singer Christina Aguilera, who receives the first award as a Music Icon.
Saturday Night Live actor Kenan Thompson – nominated as Male TV Star 2021 and Comedy TV Star 2021 – will host the festivities, which will be presented at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
The awards – considered one of the few honors voted on by fans only – are broadcast on both NBC and E! at 9 p.m.
“Black Widow”, “Coming 2 America”, “F9: The Fast Saga”, “Dune”, “No Time to Die”, “Shang-Chi and The Legend of” are nominated for the highest film award – The Movie of 2021 the Ten Rings, “The Tomorrow War,” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”.
Except for “Coming 2 America”, all of these films are also nominated for the best action film of the year, with “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “The Suicide Squad” also in the category.
Coming 2 America is nominated for Best Comedy, along with Free Guy, He’s All That, Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, Jungle Cruise, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Thunder Force “and” Vacation Friends. “
Craig is nominated for Best Male Film Star for his final role as James Bond in No Time To Die. Also nominated are Chris Pratt for “The Tomorrow War”, Dwayne Johnson for “Jungle Cruise”, Eddie Murphy for “Coming 2 America”, John Cena for “F9: The Fast Saga”, Ryan Reynolds for “Free Guy” and Simu Liu for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and Vin Diesel for “F9: The Fast Saga”.
Nominated for best female film star are Awkwafina for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, Charlize Theron for “F9: The Fast Saga”, Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johannson for “Black Widow”, Jennifer Hudson for “Respect,” , Leslie Jones for “Coming 2 America”, Margot Robbie for “The Suicide Squad” and Salma Hayek for “Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard”.
