The Music Department of Santa Monica College (SMC) is proud to present a benefit concert for the prestigious Applied Music Program with some of the SMC’s most talented music students.
The concert will take place on Friday, November 5th at 7:30 p.m. at The Broad Stage at the SMC Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th Street (on Santa Monica Boulevard), Santa Monica.
The Applied Music Program, part of SMC’s ongoing efforts to combine world-class arts education with high-quality performance for the public, is dedicated to promoting the development of outstanding instrumentalists, singers and composers with the aim of bringing every student to a successful major change Music at a four-year university or music college.
The Academically Rigorous Program – 2001 by Dr. James Smith and currently led by Gina Saputo Bagg, Jimmy Cheesman and Brian Driscoll – requires students to audition for the program and, if accepted, courses in ensemble, music theory and performance, and private tuition.
Tickets are available at the box office and cost $ 10 cash only. The seats are on first arrival.
Spectators must show ID and proof of COVID vaccination (or a negative test within 72 hours of the event) at the door. A mask is required at all times.
