PACOIMA (CBSLA) – A professional Cincinnati Reds pitcher handed out thousands of baseball cleats to children in the San Fernando Valley Saturday.

Hunter Greene, a local pitching standout from Notre Dame High School who was selected in the second round by the Cincinnati Reds in 2017, said he wanted to do something special for the community over the vacation.

Approximately 3,000 pairs of studs were given away to students, each valued at approximately $ 100 per pair.

“Just the fact that Hunter Greene is giving out free shoes to give back to the community makes me do the same at some point,” said Jackson Lyons, a high school baseball player.
