A Bank of America executive was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of a 48-year-old woman in Reseda.

Anthony Duwayne Turner is being held in Van Nuys Jail on a $ 2 million bond.

Turner was arrested near his home on Airline Avenue’s 8800 block in Westchester. He is a mid-market executive at Bank of America Los Angeles.

Turner is being held at her home near the 19300 block on Covello Street in Reseda in connection with Michelle Avan’s death. She has been identified by the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper as Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Bank of America / Merrill Lynch.

Los Angeles police said they were concerned that they were unable to reach Avan early Thursday morning.

“A family member made the discovery and notified the police and paramedics,” the statement said. “Upon arrival, the officers found a woman in the residence who did not respond. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department were called and pronounced for death.

Valley Bureau murder detectives are investigating the death. The exact cause is unknown; However, Avan appeared to have suffered trauma to her face, the publication added.

In a statement, the bank said it was devastated by news of Avan’s death.

“Michelle has been a valued member of our company for over 20 years and we will miss her very much. We express our deepest condolences to her family, ”the message reads.
