Bacteria warning for swimmers at Santa Monica Pier extended again

SANTA MONICA, CA – A notice regarding the use of seawater has been issued for bodies of water near Santa Monica Pier, health officials said Friday evening.

The Los Angeles County Department of Health expanded its warning to include several beaches.

Individuals planning to visit the following Los Angeles County beaches should exercise caution while swimming, surfing, and playing in the ocean:

  • Manhattan Beach Pier
  • Santa Monica Pier
  • Mother Beach in Marina Del Rey
  • Redondo Beach Pier

“The warning was issued because of bacterial levels that exceeded health standards in the last test,” said public health officials.
