Bacteria Warning: Avoid swimming at this Santa Monica beach

SANTA MONICA, CA — Several Los Angeles County beaches continue to receive bacteria warnings, including the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica.

The warnings were issued Monday night as bacterial levels exceeded health standards at the last test.

The Los Angeles County Department of Health warns residents planning to visit the following Los Angeles County beaches not to swim, surf, and gamble in the ocean:

  • Herondo Street Gully at Hermosa Beach (Hermosa Tower TK)
  • Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey
  • Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
  • Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach
  • Topanga Canyon Beach in Malibu

Recent sampling results showed water quality was within state standards and a warning was lifted for the pico capsize gully at Santa Monica Beach, Santa Monica Tower 20.
