Attack with deadly weapon arrest

January 10, 2022 6:02 PM

Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officials arrested Michelle Antonia Murcia, an 18-year-old Los Angeles woman, for her involvement in an incident on November 21, 2021.

On November 21, 2021, SMPD officials investigated an attack at the foot of the stairs at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. that involved two street vendors. When the officers arrived, they contacted a female victim who informed them that she was being challenged to fight by another saleswoman who was later identified as Murcia. Murcia got angry and pushed a hot dog cart on top of the victim, causing hot oil to spill onto the victim’s arms and hands. The Santa Monica Fire Department responded to treat the burns. Murcia left the area before the officials arrived.

At around 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2022, officials noticed Murcia was standing in front of Hot Dog on a Stick on the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk. She was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Murcia was booked for 245 (a) (4) PC attack with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is strongly encouraged to contact Detective Spenser 310-458-8420 or the 24-hour watch commanders at 310-458-8426.
