Amazon opens a fashion store in Los Angeles in the brick-and-mortar move

The opening of a brick-and-mortar clothing store in Los Angeles was announced Thursday, the online retailer’s first foray into selling fashion through physical stores.

The company said male and female customers will be able to use “innovative technology” to browse, try on and buy clothing or shoes, including using algorithmic recommendations.”

Style” store will open later this year in suburban Los Angeles with a size of 30,000 square feet.

The internet giant already has a few brick-and-mortar stores and owns several bookstores as well as grocery and convenience stores from Amazon Fresh, which operate in the US and the UK

Amazon shares rose 0.3% in premarket trading after falling 1.7% on Wednesday.
