New hotel’s are a dime a dozen in Los Angeles, but for travelers lusting over a long-awaited trip to Italy, Hotel Per La is the perfect antidote.

Per La — which translates to “for the” in Italian — opened its Neoclassical doors this month and is serving up some serious la dolce vita on the corner of 7th Street and Olive in DTLA. While the properties origin story dates back to 1922 when it served as the former headquarters of The Bank of Italy in what was then known as the Giannini Building, today, Per La has been reimagined into a 241-key boutique whose Neoclassical touches including dramatic Doric columns, ornate golden and blue ceilings, and marble floors have been meticulously preserved.

“We conceived of Hotel Per La quite literally for the people of DTLA and their guests,” said Jeremy Selman, Operating Partner at HN Capital Partners. “We wanted to create a place that truly represented the cultural and creative richness of this part of town where our neighbors and travelers could feel both at home and also immersed in all that makes Downtown LA special, while still celebrating the unbelievable canvas that the building and its history afforded us.”
