Moore went on to explain that the food trucks serving students at CMD were expensive, while EveryTable offered “a $ 2 snack, a $ 5 meal, and just very affordable healthy option.” At least one food truck serving CMD students lists entrees for as little as $ 13 and up to $ 19 on their menu.
To address the scarcity of affordable groceries at CMD, the Santa Monica College Foundation set up a room on the CMD campus and enlisted the help of SMC students to design a lounge.
EveryTable has partnered with the Santa Monica College Foundation to provide snacks and meals for students valued at $ 2.00-5.00 through the lounge, and it opened on February 25, 2020. And everything was closed, “said Moore.
The partnership between EveryTable and the SMC Foundation continued to provide meals to food insecure students through the Project EveryTable meal service, which is part of the SMC Foundation’s Meal Project program.
“It’s important for students to know that there are many programs and services out there that will assist them now when they need food security help,” said Moore.

Students can visit the Bodega Pop-Up Food Pantry on the first floor of the Cayton Center Complex every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to purchase fresh produce, grains, protein, and long-life foods, as well as essentials for infants and toddlers.
