Do you rave about an incredible taste memory that you had decades ago, especially the much-missed culinary experiences that often go away over time?

It can be very easy when an unforgettable meal has made a particularly appetizing impression on you.

And if that meal was a pizza, you probably remember that long-forgotten cake every time you pick up a slice, any slice, while telling everyone within earshot of this pizza that is still going on Pursuing your culinary dreams.

Guests cannot control which dishes appear on the menus of their go-to restaurants and also which dishes disappear, but they can be happy when a long-remembered standard surprises, if only briefly, back.

And that’s exactly what two “fan favorites” from a past California Pizza Kitchen recently did. The Santa Fe Chicken Pizza, one of the original CPK offerings from 1987, and the Jamaican Jerk Pizza both returned to the CPK menus for a limited time in November 2021.

A sense of spiciness for people who loved the Santa Fe Chicken Pizza early on: it slipped off the restaurant company’s list for nearly two decades.

“For us at CPK it has always been a pride to listen to our guests and to guarantee customer satisfaction through new innovations and in this case to bring back two popular menu items,” said Jim Hyatt, CEO of CPK.

“We do polls every now and then which pizzas our guests would like to see again, and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Pizza and the Santa Fe Chicken Pizza are always the top two.

But here’s a new twist that didn’t exist in the early days of CPK: you can now get these two goodies on a cauliflower crust while getting a chickpea crust at some participating CPK restaurants.

And what is the Santa Fe Chicken Pizza all about?

Your taste buds will surely remember the following details: The “… pizza consists of chicken breast marinated in lime and herbs, red onions and Monterey Jack with fresh coriander, sour cream, mashed avocado and homemade roasted tomato salsa.”

And the Jamaican Jerk Chicken offers “… sweet but spicy Caribbean sauce, authentic Jamaican spices, Nueske’s Applewood smoked bacon, red onions, peppers and shallots.”

Find both now at participating California Pizza Kitchen restaurants.
