TRADE (CBSLA) – California may not feel like winter just yet, but that hasn’t stopped the annual tree lights at Citadel Outlets in Commerce on Saturday night.

A crowd gathered to watch the 45-foot-tall tree glow with the 18.00 lights that covered almost every branch. It is also adorned with over 10,000 ornaments.

The lighting took place at 5:45 p.m., which is now accompanied by a lot of darkness thanks to the summer time that came into effect on November 7th.

The silver fir from Mount Shasta, shipped in October, is the tallest living tree in all of California this year. It’s even 25 feet taller than the Pacific Wheel, the ferris wheel on Santa Monica Pier.

This is the 20th annual tree lighting in the Citadel. With the tree lit, visitors can expect visits from Santa Claus and even the occasional “snow” thunderstorm.
