The 36th Los Angeles Marathon, sponsored by Asics, runs from Dodger Stadium to a new finish line in Century City on November 7th.

The 42.2 mile stretch of the race begins at Dodger Stadium and runs through the neighboring cities of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills to the finish line on Avenue of the Stars near Santa Monica Boulevard in Century City, a business district and neighborhood in Los Angeles Angeles.

The LA Marathon Stadium to the Sea route ended on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica from 2010-2020.

The highways

CALTRANS will close the following motorway entrances and turning lanes on US 101, SR-110 and I-405 on Sunday from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

Northbound US-101

  • Exit Spring Street
  • Grand Avenue exit
  • Exit Glendale Boulevard / Echo Park Avenue
  • Exit Sunset Boulevard / Hollywood Boulevard
  • Left turn lane at the Gower Street exit
  • Right turn lane off the Highland Avenue exit

Head south on US-101

  • Broadway exit
  • Temple Street exit
  • Exit Sunset Boulevard / Hollywood Boulevard
  • Right turn lane off the Gower Street exit
  • Turn right on Vine Street Exit
  • Exit Highland Avenue
  • Closure of the Academy Road access lane to Amador

North SR-110

  • Temple Street exit
  • Exit Hill Street / Stadium Way

Heading south SR-110

  • Exit Figueroa Street / Sunset Boulevard
  • Stadium path from the ramp
  • Exit Hill Street

North I-405

  • Exit Wilshire Boulevard heading west

South I-405

  • Left turn lane off the Santa Monica Boulevard exit
  • Exit Wilshire Boulevard

The streets

Road closures along the route will begin at 4 a.m. on Sunday. The marathon course is closed to car traffic for six hours and 30 minutes, starting after the last runner has crossed the start line at Dodger Stadium.

The marathon starts at 6:30 a.m. with wheelchair and handbike participants and athletes with disabilities, followed by the elite women at 6:45 a.m., and then the elite men and the general field start at 6:55 a.m. and go into the early afternoon.

West hollywood

Parking is prohibited along the marathon route. No parking signs will be put up before the event.

West Hollywood closed streets from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • Sunset Boulevard – between Marmont Lane and Clark Streets / North San Vicente Boulevard
  • North San Vicente Boulevard – between Sunset Boulevard and Melrose Avenue
  • Santa Monica Boulevard – between La Cienega Boulevard and North Doheny Drive
  • North Doheny Drive – between Santa Monica and Beverly Boulevards

The marathon route leaves the City of West Hollywood via Doheny Drive into the City of Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills

The Beverly Hills segment of the marathon begins on Doheny Drive, and contestants walk west on Burton Way to Rodeo Drive, then south on Rodeo to Wilshire Boulevard, and then west to Santa Monica Boulevard.

Spectators seeking parking during the Beverly Hills marathon can find information online at beverlyhills.org/parking

Beverly Hills streets closed from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.:

  • Doheny Drive – between North Santa Monica Boulevard and Burton Way
  • Burton Way – between Doheny Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard
  • South Santa Monica Boulevard – between Rexford and Rodeo Drives
  • Rodeo Drive – between South Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards
  • Wilshire Boulevard – between Rodeo Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard
  • South Santa Monica Boulevard – between Wilshire Boulevard and Moreno Drive

There will also be a detour on the western border of Beverly Hills at Wilshire and North Santa Monica Boulevards, Moreno Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard through November 7th at 5:00 p.m. Beverly Hills Police and diversion boards will guide motorists along the route in the city. Finish line

Spectator access is restricted on Avenue of the Stars from Santa Monica Boulevard to Constellation Boulevard. The final approach to the finish line is closed to all spectators and unauthorized public.

The Finish Festival will be held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Century Park, 10058 Constellation Blvd., on Avenue of the Stars and across from the Westfield Hotel in Century City.
