2 Hospitalized After Santa Monica Stabbing

SANTA MONICA, CA — Two people were transported to a hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing on Santa Monica’s Ocean Front Walk, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The stabbing occurred by the public restrooms in the 2100 block of OFW at 9:40 pm Officers arrived at the scene and found that the suspect, 26-year-old Jamal K. Lampitt, was being held down by another person.

Officers found one victim near the area with multiple stab wounds and had him taken to a hospital. After investigation officers found that Lampitt allegedly tried to rob the victim, but was unsuccessful.

Another victim was transported to a local hospital after Lampitt encountered the man on a bicycle and allegedly, “stabbed him multiple times for no apparent reason.” Both victims are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries according to SMPD.
